Should I Take My Non-Posting Gaming Rig to a Local Computer Shop?

Hey everyone! I've just built a new gaming rig from scratch, but I've run into some serious issues—nothing seems to be working, and I can't even get it to post in BIOS. It feels like I've tried everything, and I'm starting to think I might need some professional help. There's a well-rated computer shop nearby, and I'm wondering if anyone here has had experience with taking a non-working setup to a shop for troubleshooting. My biggest concern is not wanting to damage my parts further. If you have any tips on how to handle this situation or your experiences at a shop, I'd love to hear them!

Before taking it to a shop, double check your connections and setups. I unplugged my GPU to test with onboard graphics, reset my BIOS, tried different RAM sticks, unplugged and reseated the CPU, and ensured everything was plugged in correctly multiple times. I even switched out the power supply and monitor. Honestly, I feel like I’ve done all I can, and a pro might be the way to go, especially since I’m eager to play a new game soon!

In my experience, local shops can be pretty reliable. However, always keep an eye out on what they're doing. Generally, if they mess something up, they're liable for it. Thankfully, I've never had a shop screw up my setup, but being attentive is key!

Do you prefer local shops or big chains? I found a good local place that has solid reviews.

Totally anecdotal, but I had a customer who went to a well-known shop that wanted $150 just to look at their PC, and they immediately said it wouldn’t POST. They kept suggesting all these costly replacements when the real issue was a dead pump in their AIO cooler. Make sure the shop you choose knows their stuff and has parts on hand, otherwise you might end up in an expensive guessing game!

Could you post a pic of your motherboard setup without the GPU? Just curious if I might spot anything off.

Sure! Here’s a link to my motherboard layout: [https://imgur.com/a/ohcGdea](https://imgur.com/a/ohcGdea). Let me know if you see anything!

Is there something specific you’d like to see in the pic?
