Should I Transition from Full Stack Development to DevOps for a 40% Salary Increase?

Hey folks, I'm looking for some career advice. I've spent about four years working as a Full Stack Developer, primarily with Spring and Angular. I played a key role in migrating our tech from older Oracle systems to a newer stack that includes Kubernetes, OpenShift, and Bamboo. My role hasn't just been about coding; I've also worked closely with the DevOps team on infrastructure and helped set up pipelines. Currently, I'm employed at one of Europe's largest financial institutions, earning above the industry average.

Recently, I interviewed for a Developer position at another company, but the hiring manager was impressed with my DevOps knowledge and suggested I consider a DevOps career path instead. He expressed that they're looking for someone with coding skills to train from scratch in DevOps.

Despite my lack of pure DevOps experience, the salary they're offering is nearly 40% higher than my current pay. I'm torn about whether to accept it and if I'll be able to handle a full DevOps role. I'd love to hear your thoughts!
