Should I Upgrade from a 5600X to a 5800X for Gaming at 1080p?

I'm trying to figure out whether upgrading from a Ryzen 5600X to a 5800X is worth it, especially for gaming at 1080p with ray tracing on ultra settings. With my current setup and an NVIDIA 5070 Ti, I'm only seeing around 55-65 FPS in Cyberpunk, and I suspect that the CPU is bottlenecking my performance. Has anyone tried both CPUs in similar scenarios and can share their experiences?

The gaming performance boost from moving to a 5800X from a 5600X isn’t going to be huge. You might see a slight increase, but you're not likely to get mind-blowing results. Some say it's only around a 5-10% uplift, depending on the game and settings.

I read somewhere that some people claimed up to 30% more FPS, so I thought the 5800X would make a bigger difference.

In tests, the 5600X at 1080p with ray tracing on ultra hit about 86 FPS, while the 5800X got around 93 FPS. This was with a decent RAM setup, though, so if you're using slower RAM, that could impact your frame rates by about 5-10% lower.

I have slower RAM, and honestly, I'm not seeing a 5-10% drop; my frame rates are even worse than that.

Honestly, if you want to see a bigger performance jump, look towards the 5800X3D if you can find it. That’s where you might notice a more significant uplift. Otherwise, if the main bottleneck is the CPU, maybe save your cash for a better upgrade.

If you're considering options, the 14600K paired with a decent motherboard and a 5070 Ti could be a better bet for 1080p. The Ryzen 5800X might hold back a 5070 Ti, and if you're looking to push higher resolutions like 1440p, it could be a better fit there. Just make sure your motherboard is solid enough to handle the CPU.

I've been eyeing the 14600KF and 14700F, but they seem pretty pricey at around $449 and $460. Is it worth the difference? I heard the 14700F isn't overclockable.
