Should I Upgrade from a GTX 1070 Ti to an RTX 5070 Ti?

I'm thinking about upgrading my GTX 1070 Ti to the new RTX 5070 Ti. I was ready to make the purchase, but then I heard some concerns about overheating issues due to NVIDIA removing hot spot sensors on the 50 series. Should I be worried about these potential overheating problems? Or would you recommend I still go ahead and buy the 5070 Ti? Just to note, finding a 40 series card has been almost impossible lately, but I did find the 5070 Ti at MSRP, specifically the Asus Prime Edition.

What are your current specs? Just curious if everything can handle the upgrade smoothly!

I have a Ryzen 5 3600X (but I'm planning on upgrading my CPU soon), a Cooler Master 750W 80+ Bronze PSU, and 32GB of RAM. I think that's decent for the 5070 Ti.

You really don't have to worry. Your PC isn't going to catch fire just because there are no hot spot sensors. It's just a minor change.

I get that, but I still think hot spot sensors are useful for keeping track of GPU health over time. A 10 degrees difference can indicate if everything's okay.

The 5070 Ti is a solid choice! You'll enjoy the upgrade for sure.

Honestly, I wouldn't stress too much about it. If there was a real overheating issue, there would have been a huge uproar in the community. Just go for it!

Yeah, you make a good point. If there were major problems, people would definitely be talking about it. Thanks, your comment has motivated me to grab the 5070 Ti!

I'm actually upgrading from a 4070 Super to a 5070 Ti soon.

If I were you, I might hold onto the 4070 Super for another year or two. Just a thought.
