I'm currently using a GTX 970, but I'm thinking about switching to an RX 590 that I found on Amazon. Is it worth the upgrade, or should I stick with my GTX 970?

Honestly, going from a GTX 970 to an RX 590 isn't a huge upgrade. The RX 590 tends to run hot as well, which might not be worth it. You might want to consider looking into a used GTX 1070, 1080, or even a 1080 Ti if you can swing it. They can offer much better performance for just a little more cash.
Yeah, but going for used cards can be risky. I mean, who knows what you're getting with a second-hand GPU?
