Should I Upgrade My 2018 PC Components or Buy a New One?

I'm considering whether I should upgrade specific parts of my 2018 PC or just invest in a completely new system. My current specs are:
- OS: Windows 10
- GPU: RTX 2070 (not Super)
- CPU: Ryzen 5 2600x at 3600 MHz
- MOBO: B450 Tomahawk
- Memory: Two sticks of 8GB Corsair DDR4-2133
- SSD: Samsung SSD 860 EVO 500GB
- PSU: RM650x Gold

I'm particularly interested in upgrading my GPU, but I'm worried that my CPU might bottleneck performance. Also, I'm not sure if my motherboard supports newer CPUs. Is my RAM sufficient for these upgrades? And is my PSU capable of handling more powerful components? Finally, considering the 500GB SSD feels too small, I'd like to upgrade that as well. I've been thinking that it might be more sensible to just buy a new prebuilt rig, similar to what I did for my wife's PC last year, which turned out great. What does everyone think?

Honestly, your RAM is a bit slow at 2133 MHz, which might limit your CPU's performance. If you update the BIOS, your motherboard could support newer AM4 CPUs like the 5600 or 5800 models. A new GPU like the 6700 XT would be a fantastic upgrade, but you’ll likely need faster RAM too. Aim for at least 16GB of 3200 MHz DDR4. It's worth considering these upgrades since your setup is still pretty good overall.

Your PC has quite a bit of upgrade potential! A BIOS update can make your motherboard compatible with the latest 5000 series Ryzen processors, and that would make a noticeable difference. Upgrading to a Ryzen 5 5600 or 5600X is a solid move, and then you'll want to look at a good GPU upgrade afterward. As for RAM, definitely check if XMP is activated; you should upgrade to faster RAM, preferably 16GB or even 32GB if you can manage it, for enhanced performance.
