I recently upgraded to a 9070XT and am gaming on a 240Hz 1440p OLED display. While the CPU (R7 3700X) manages to keep pace most of the time, I still feel there are moments where it struggles a bit. I'm currently playing games like Crimson Desert, Star Wars, and Halo Infinite. I'm considering whether it's worth it to grab a cheaper CPU like the 5700X for a boost in performance or if I should just stick with my setup as it is. What do you think?

I recently had a similar build and went for the 5800X3D. It all depends on what games you play. If you're into modern AAA games, they tend to be CPU-intensive. For older titles or low-res competitive games, an upgrade might give you the extra FPS you're looking for.
If you want top-tier performance, look into the 14600K/F with an MSI PRO B760-P DDR4. But if you’re on a budget, the 5700X will still give you a nice performance increase, as long as your motherboard is capable.
Going for a 5600, 5600X, 5700X, or even a 5800X could be a solid move. Just pick whichever one you can get for the best price.
I’d say it’s worth considering. Selling your 3700X can get you around $85-$90 on eBay, making the upgrade cost around $100 for a decent performance bump and improved FPS. With your powerful setup, the 3700X is definitely holding back your system a bit in some situations.
If your games are still playable, maybe hold off on spending money on a new CPU. Upgrading is only worth it if the CPU is truly throttling your GPU's performance. Enjoy your current setup for now!
