Should I Upgrade My CPU from 12700K to 14th Gen?

I'm in the process of building my PC and I've got an Intel i7 12700K CPU paired with an AMD 5070 graphics card. I'm considering upgrading to either an i7 or i9 from the 14th generation, but I've heard there might still be some issues with the 14th gen i9. Since I'm already using an LGA 1700 socket and have a 240mm AIO cooler, I was wondering if a 14th gen i7 I found for $300 is worth it or if I should just stick with my current setup. What do you think?

A brand new 14700K goes for around $300 on Amazon, so buying from the marketplace might not be the best deal. The 12700K will perform well, especially at 1440p and higher resolutions. Are you noticing any CPU bottlenecking in your games? For most games, especially above 1080p, you might still be limited by your GPU. Just check the resource usage while gaming. If CPU performance is an issue, overclocking could help, but make sure that your cooler can handle it. A 240mm AIO might not be sufficient for a 14700K, particularly when overclocked.

Honestly, I don't think you need to upgrade. The 12700K is still a solid CPU for casual gaming. You might be better off saving for a new motherboard, CPU, and RAM in the future, especially if you want to switch to a Ryzen x3d CPU later on.
