Hey everyone, I'm trying to figure out the best way to improve my gaming setup. Right now, I have an RX6700XT GPU, 16GB of DDR4 3200MHz RAM, a Ryzen 5 5600X CPU, an Asus TUF B550 motherboard, and a 750W power supply, all running on a 1440p monitor. I'm mainly playing games like The Finals, Battlefield, Clair Obscur, Arc Raiders, Baldur's Gate 3, and a few indie titles.
Currently, I'm getting around 80-90 FPS on The Finals with medium-high settings, and I struggle to hit 70 FPS on Arc Raiders, even in medium settings. FSR3 helps bump up my FPS by about 20, but the quality sacrifices don't look great, with noticeable blurriness and artifacts. Clair Obscur also struggles, sitting around 70 FPS.
I'm aiming for a consistent 100 FPS or more across all games (well, except maybe GTA 6!). Do you think I should upgrade my CPU, motherboard, and RAM to something better, maybe DDR5 and an R7 9800X3D? Or is my GPU the issue, and should I consider a full upgrade? Also, side note: is getting an OLED screen worth it for gaming?

Sounds like you’re in a bit of a rut with those frame rates! Honestly, upgrading both your CPU and GPU could give you the boost you're looking for at 1440p. Your current setup is decent, but balancing out performance definitely helps—especially with newer titles. If you're looking for smooth 100 FPS, more powerful components will get you there. Oh, and about the OLED, yes! It's fantastic for gaming, the colors and contrast are just on another level. You'll love it!
What’s your budget looking like? Upgrading both your CPU and GPU can be pricey, so find a balance that fits your wallet. Also, a good OLED monitor is usually gonna run you around 1K euros—definitely an investment! You might want to aim for a strong camera setup too since it’s all about performance and price, right?
Yeah, I don't want to overspend for just a slight performance bump. I'm looking for something that gives me real value. But 1K for an OLED? Oof!
