Should I Upgrade My CPU or GPU First?

Hey everyone! I'm looking to upgrade my PC and could really use some advice. Here's my current setup:
- Asrock B450M Pro
- Ryzen 5 3600X
- Radeon 5600XT 6GB
- 2x8GB Gskill DDR4
- 600W EVGA Bronze power supply

I have a budget of about $600 and I'm lucky enough to have a Microcenter in my city, so I can get some solid deals. I play a lot of Paradox titles along with some AAA games, and I have a few upgrade options in mind:
1. Upgrade to a Ryzen 9800X3D (available as a Microcenter bundle for $629)
2. Upgrade to a Radeon 9070 or 9070XT (prices range from $550-$600)
3. Upgrade both to a Ryzen 9600X (with a Microcenter bundle at $299) and a Radeon 9060XT ($350-$400).

What do you think I should do?

If you can swing it, upgrading both is the ideal choice! Balancing both CPU and GPU will make a noticeable difference in your performance now and in the future.

You could always sell your old rig to boost your budget. A lot of folks are looking for budget-friendly options, and with that, you could go for option 3 and maybe even aim for the 9070XT if prices are right!

I’d recommend going for the 9600X bundle with the 9060 XT 16GB. It's a solid upgrade and gives you a good balance between CPU and GPU without breaking the bank.

Just a heads up, if you opt for the 9800X3D without upgrading the GPU, you're going to end up with a powerful CPU that the 5600XT can’t fully utilize. It’s better to pick a balanced upgrade option instead.

Exactly! It’s all about that synergy between CPU and GPU.

Right? It’s much better to have both components work well together.
