Hey everyone! I'm in a bit of a pickle trying to decide if I should upgrade my current setup or go for a full rebuild. I've got a 2017 PC with an ASUS Prime B-350 Plus motherboard, an AMD Ryzen 5 1600 processor, 16GB of G.Skill RAM, and a GIGABYTE GTX 1080 GPU. I'm thinking about sticking with the AM4 motherboard and just upgrading my other components or switching to AM5 and using my current build as a storage server. I'm considering the Ryzen 5000 series for upgrades or the 9700X/7800X3D for a complete rebuild. What do you all think I should do?

I've heard the 5000 series is fantastic, especially the 5700X3D. The 5600X is also a solid pick if you don’t have gaming as a top priority.
It depends on your budget. If you want to save, go for a budget-friendly Zen3. But if money isn't an issue, Zen4 or Zen5 would be the way to go.
I’d definitely go the upgrade route. You could see a major boost in performance just by upgrading your CPU and GPU. The 5700X3D is top-tier, but even the 5600X would significantly improve your system. No need to change your RAM as long as it's 3200MHz, and you can really choose whatever GPU you want.
Honestly, I didn't set a budget for a rebuild because the choices are just too overwhelming! But if I had to estimate, maybe around $1500 just for the parts.
