I'm looking to upgrade my gaming PC this Black Friday. My current setup includes an Asus B450M motherboard, a Ryzen 3600X CPU, 16GB of RAM (2400Mhz), and a GTX 1650 super GPU. I'm torn between upgrading everything to the AM5 socket or sticking with AM4. I'm concerned about spending money on parts that might not be compatible with future chipsets. Any advice on whether it's better to upgrade now or wait?

Before you upgrade, consider updating your BIOS and getting the Ryzen 5 5500X3D if you stick with AM4. It's AMD's newer release and could boost your performance. Also, think about upgrading your GPU to something from the RTX 2000-5000 series to really enhance your gaming experience. And upgrading your RAM from 16GB to 32GB would be a smart move too!
Don't forget, Black Friday is still some time away—might be worth doing some price tracking before you dive in. Plus, I think the AM5 platform has a solid future, so you may want to go that route if you're looking for longevity!
If you're thinking about long-term performance, I definitely recommend upgrading to AM5. While your current setup can run many games, the Ryzen 3600X and GTX 1650 super might hold you back in new AAA titles. AM5 will be supported for a while and gives you a solid foundation for future upgrades. I'd plan to switch to AM5 if you want to ensure your system stays relevant for years to come.
Thanks for the insight! I'll keep an eye on AM5 prices for Black Friday.
