Hey everyone, I'm in a bit of a dilemma and would love your insights! I've got an R5 4500X, GTX 1080 Ti, 16GB of DDR4 RAM (just one stick), and a 650W power supply. I'm thinking about whether I should upgrade my CPU to something like the Ryzen 7 9800X3D with a new AM5 motherboard and 16GB of DDR5 RAM, or if I should keep my current setup and just upgrade to an RX 9070 XT GPU. Both options would cost me about the same, and I'm unsure which upgrade would be more beneficial for my gaming experience. Just a note, I'm primarily playing single-player story games and a bit of War Thunder, and I plan to upgrade my monitor down the line. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

If you're playing at 1440p, the 4500X could really hold back the RX 9070 XT. I recommend upgrading your CPU, motherboard, and RAM first, so you can fully utilize a better GPU later on.

I only have a 1080p 60Hz monitor right now, though. I'm planning to upgrade that soon. I just can't decide whether the CPU or GPU upgrade should come first!
