Hey everyone! I'm considering an upgrade for my PC and I'm torn between upgrading my CPU or just getting a new GPU. If I go with the CPU, I'd be looking at the Ryzen 7 9800X3D, but that means I'd also need a new motherboard and RAM since I want to upgrade to DDR5. On the other hand, I could just upgrade my GPU to an RTX 5070ti. Here are my current specs:
- CPU: Intel i5 12600KF
- RAM: Corsair 32GB 3200MHz
- GPU: RTX 3080 12GB
- Motherboard: ASUS TUF GAMING B660M-PLUS
I mainly play games on a 1440p OLED at 360Hz, so I'm looking for the best way to enhance my gaming experience. What do you think is the better investment?

Honestly, do you really need to upgrade? The i5-12600KF is still quite capable, especially for gaming. If your main goal is higher FPS, consider just sticking with it for now and upgrading the GPU instead—it's a solid card for most titles at your settings.
Upgrading the CPU along with the motherboard is probably a more future-proof choice. You'll likely get better longevity and performance with that setup than just swapping out the GPU. Plus, RAM upgrade to DDR5 could also make a notable difference in your games!
I get that, but I saw this video where upgrading to the Ryzen with the same GPU showed a 50% FPS increase, so I’m a bit conflicted. Not sure how true that is!
