Should I upgrade my old hand-me-down PC or just start fresh?

A few years back, I got a PC from a friend without knowing its specs. Recently, I've been having a lot of issues—the CPU is too old to install some programs, and the GPU is struggling with basics. I'm wondering if I can upgrade a few parts to improve performance or if I should scrap it and build something new. Here are my specs:

- Operating System: Windows 10 Home 64-bit
- CPU: AMD FX-8320
- RAM: 16.0GB Dual-Channel DDR3 @ 803MHz
- Motherboard: ASUSTeK Computer INC. M5A78L-M PLUS/USB3
- Graphics: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1050
- Storage: 931GB Western Digital + 3726GB Seagate Expansion

Any recommendations for upgrades, or should I just save up for a better build?

I had an i5 3470 and a GTX 760 that I slowly upgraded by selling some parts. Honestly, you might consider parting out your current PC and building something new. It can be a fun project and you might end up with better performance!
