Hey everyone! I'm looking to add more storage to my PC, but I'm also considering if any of the parts need an upgrade since I built this rig nearly ten years ago. I've done two upgrades in the past: I replaced the GPU when my old one failed, and I increased the RAM from 8GB to 16GB. Honestly, I'm not very tech-savvy when it comes to hardware specifications, so I'd love your input on whether it's worth upgrading anything else besides just storage.

Your PC is definitely getting up there in age! What do you mainly use it for? A PC's purpose can really change the upgrade needs, you know?
Honestly, while your system is dated, it still holds up for what you're using it for. I’d suggest switching to SSDs if your motherboard supports it, although I think you'll need a third-party converter since it seems a bit limited. As for upgrades, your core components are still quite solid for your current uses. That GPU is a beast even now! I had a GTX 1080 Ti that I don’t use anymore, and I often miss those fond days of dual-gpu setups.
How much do you think my CPU is holding me back? It’s quite dated.
For sure lol — built this on a budget back in the day while in college. I mainly use it for software development, gaming, editing, and just general entertainment like Plex.
