I've had my custom built PC for a decade now, and I'm considering whether I should upgrade certain parts or just buy a totally new machine. My main aim is to play most modern games comfortably, ideally on medium settings with good performance. Here are my current specs:
- Power Supply: 750W EVGA/Corsair
- Processor: Intel Core i5 6600K at 3.5GHz (Skylake)
- Motherboard: ASUS/GIGABYTE (Intel Z170 chipset)
- Graphics Card: GeForce GTX 970 4GB
- Memory: 8GB DDR4 2666MHz
- Storage: 250GB SSD (Samsung 850 EVO) + 1TB HDD (Seagate) + 1 empty drive.
I realize I'll need to upgrade several components, but I'm unsure if it's worth it to keep the chassis. Any advice or recommendations would be greatly appreciated!

Honestly, your best bet is to sell your current setup and just get something new. With your existing hardware, there really isn't a solid upgrade path available.
I think it's time to build new. Your GTX 970 is just too old to handle anything beyond 2014 games. If you go for a new build, aim for at least a 750W PSU and consider getting a GPU with 16GB of VRAM. Also, don't go for 13th or 14th gen Intel chips if you can help it.
Totally agree! Plus, why not go for a 1000W PSU? You'll have better headroom and it feels like a safer bet for future upgrades.
