I recently struck a deal for a gaming build which includes a 6800XT, an R5 5600 CPU, 32GB of RAM, and a 1TB NVMe drive, all for just $375. I'm using a 1440p 144Hz monitor with it. I'm wondering if I should upgrade to a 5700X3D or jump to the AM5 platform. What are your thoughts on potential bottlenecking with the R5 5600 paired with the 6800XT?

Honestly, the R5 5600 is great! Upgrading to the 5700X3D would be more about future-proofing and holding off for AM6. It's pretty comparable to the 7600 but check eBay; you might find a better deal than $250 for it.
Seriously, $375 for that setup is a steal. Bottlenecking at 1440p won’t be an issue in most games, only a handful might push it. Just a thought, make sure your coworker isn’t offloading defective parts, but if you trust him, you’re good to go!
Going for the 5700X3D should serve you well for a few years, unless you really need more cores for multithreaded tasks.
That price is crazy good! At 1440p with max settings, the R5 5600 is pretty solid, especially if you’re not diving into competitive gaming. If you do play competitively and lower some settings, the 5700X3D could definitely give you a nice FPS boost.
