Hey everyone! So, I know GTA 6 hasn't been officially announced for PC yet and we don't have any concrete specs, but I'm trying to plan ahead. I've got an i7-9000, a 3070, and 32GB of RAM, which I bought back in 2020. Lately, I've been running into some "low vram" errors while gaming, especially on my new 5120x1440 Samsung G9 widescreen monitor. I play a mix of games like Madden, FC25, Forza Horizon, GTA 5, and NBA 2K, and I love modding and doing some texture/model editing with Blender and Photoshop. Given my current setup, what do you think I should do if I need to upgrade now? I've heard the RTX 5080 might be around next year, but I'm considering what to do in the meantime.

I doubt even the 5090 will run GTA 6 at max settings, especially since it’s still quite a ways off. It’s hard to justify a full build for a game we don’t even know the specs for. Just get something that fits your budget now, and see what the future holds.
If you're mainly dealing with low VRAM issues, why not just grab a 9070 XT for now? It's a solid upgrade and will double your VRAM, which should help a lot. Hold off on overhauling your whole setup until closer to the GTA 6 launch. There's no point in future-proofing when you don’t need it yet.
Honestly, a 7800X3D and a 9070 XT build could solve your low VRAM issue nicely. Just make sure you pair it with some fast DDR5 RAM. That should keep you running smoothly for a while!
Don’t forget the PC version usually drops a year after the console release, so I'd speculate it's around Nov 2027 for PC. Just a heads up!
Good plan! You could sell your 3070 and invest in a 3090 with 48GB of memory. If RAM prices are low, upgrading to 64GB could be worth it too. Just wait a bit before diving into a full upgrade so you can catch better prices on the 5090.
