Hey everyone! I've just bought myself an RX 9070 XT, and I'm debating whether I should upgrade my Ryzen 5 5600X to the Ryzen 7 5800X3D. At €350, I want to know if it's worth it. Currently, my setup includes the RX 9070 XT, Ryzen 5 5600X, an Asrock B450M Pro4 motherboard, 32GB of 3200MHz Kingston RAM, a CORSAIR RM1000x PSU, and a Samsung 980 Pro 2TB SSD. I'm gaming at 3440x1440 on a Xiaomi monitor with a 144Hz refresh rate. Since I'm mostly playing at such a high resolution, I'm questioning if the performance boost with the 5800X3D would really be noticeable. Should I just save up for a more significant upgrade to a newer Gen 4/5 setup?

You can keep an eye on your GPU usage during gaming sessions. For most new titles at high to ultra settings, you should aim for around 100% GPU usage. If you're consistently around 90%, you might still have some overhead for performance without upgrading right now.

From what I've seen, an upgrade doesn't seem necessary. Check out these benchmarks to get more insight: https://imgur.com/a/kkU4953 and a video breakdown: https://youtu.be/aYYVz4q-Rt8?si=2d8O_67VI-9IzeJo

From my experience, upgrading to a new platform with the same GPU often results in disappointing gains. Sometimes the older setups can perform just as well, especially if everything is running smoothly.

That's good to know. I guess the 5600X might still hold up for a bit longer.
