Should I Upgrade to MacBook Air or Mac Mini for Lightroom?

Hey everyone! I'm currently using a MacBook Pro from 2014 primarily for Lightroom CC, but it's really struggling to keep up these days. I'm considering an upgrade and trying to decide between getting a new MacBook Air (either the M3 or M4 model) or the Mac Mini M4. Portability isn't a concern since I mostly use my laptop at my home office. Alongside Lightroom, I do some average tasks, but I'm also interested in exploring software like OpenCLAW in the future. I'd love to hear your thoughts to help me avoid buyer's remorse. Thanks, and hope you all have a fantastic day!

What about the other 1% of the time you use your 2014 MacBook? Are you comfortable using it for that little bit? Just trying to gauge if you really need the portability.

Good question! I mostly use my MacBook on a desk at my home office, so that 1% is just occasionally using it on the couch. I guess not being able to move it around isn't a big deal for me.

If you’re leaning towards a laptop, go for the MacBook Air. However, if you mainly work at home, the Mac Mini would be a great choice. And seriously, steer clear of installing OpenCLAW on your machine; I've heard it can cause issues.
