I'm currently building a new PC and have an AM4 motherboard equipped with a Ryzen 5 5600 processor. I just purchased a new 9070 TX and I'm gaming at 1440p. I'm wondering if I should keep using my Ryzen 5 5600 since the X3D CPUs for AM4 are hard to find and quite pricey. Upgrading to AM5 isn't feasible for me right now. Any advice would be appreciated!

Honestly, the performance improvements in real-world gaming won't be massive compared to your 5600. If you max out your current CPU regularly, then it might be worth considering an upgrade, but if not, the gains may not justify the cost.
I'd recommend sticking with your Ryzen 5 5600. The 5700X3D is way overpriced right now. If you can find a good deal on a used one, it might be worth it, but otherwise, the 5500X3D on AliExpress could be a budget-friendly option, though it has a lower max boost clock than the 5600. It really depends on the games you often play and whether they benefit from the extra cache.
What would you consider a fair price for a used 5700X3D? Like around $200?
Check out jawa.gg for used X3D CPUs. They show up occasionally, and it seems like a trustworthy site. Just remember to test the CPU within a couple of days of getting it to ensure everything works as expected.
At 1440p, you really won't see a significant jump in performance by upgrading. Sticking with the 5600 is probably your best bet for now.
Exactly! I mean, an upgrade for just a 2-5% increase isn’t worth the $200 price tag.

So it sounds like I wouldn’t find a better AM4 option than my 5600, right? Even a slight bump in performance wouldn't make sense for the price?
