Should I Upgrade to Ryzen 7 7800X3D for Better 1080p Gaming?

Hey everyone! I'm looking for some advice. Right now, I have an RTX 3080 paired with a Ryzen 5 9600X, and I usually game on a 4K 60Hz monitor. However, I'm thinking about switching to a 1080p 144Hz monitor since I care more about frame rates than resolution. I'm wondering if it makes sense to upgrade to the Ryzen 7 7800X3D for about $200 (I can sell my current CPU to a friend). I've been getting around 100-120 fps at 1080p with my current setup, and getting a 20-30 fps boost would definitely help me maximize the potential of the new monitor. Do you think it's worth the upgrade, or should I stick with 4K? Thanks in advance!

It really depends on the types of games you play. The Ryzen 7800X3D is definitely a better CPU, no argument there. But your 9600X is still a solid choice for 1080p gaming. If you're into CPU-heavy games, an upgrade could be worthwhile for the performance boost, especially as you move to a faster monitor. But if you're not feeling the urge to flex, sticking with what you've got could save you some cash.

I mainly play Minecraft with lots of mods and shaders, so I've noticed my CPU struggling at times. That's why I'm considering it, but I also dabble in games like Cyberpunk and A Plague Tale.
