Should I Upgrade to the RTX 50 Series or Wait for the 40 Series?

Hey everyone! I'm currently running an RTX 2060 and I'm ready to make an upgrade. Playing Oblivion has shown me just how much I need to level up my GPU. I've been out of the GPU scene for a bit, so I'm not too familiar with the latest options. I was initially leaning towards the 4070 Super, but finding one seems like a challenge lately. However, I noticed that there's plenty of stock for the RTX 5070. I've read mixed things about the 50 series being overpriced and underwhelming in performance, plus there are some mentions of potential technical issues. Given that the 40 series seems to be discontinued, should I go ahead and grab a 50 series card? How does performance stack up? Will I be receiving a good deal or just fake frames? I'm located in the US, by the way.

Right now, the 50 series is actually looking like a better option in terms of price to performance. A 5070 Ti is priced similarly to a 4070 Super but outperforms it considerably. If you’re finding the 5070 Ti for the same price as the 4070 Super, I’d say go for it!

Where are you finding those prices? My 4070 Super cost me $600.
