Should I Upgrade to WiFi 7 Now or Wait?

I've been hearing a lot about WiFi 7 routers and devices lately and I'm curious if it's the right time to upgrade. My current setup is WiFi 6, which has been working perfectly for streaming, gaming, and work. I'm wondering if I'd actually notice any real difference in daily use. I know that new tech often takes time to truly catch on, and I don't want to spend money on something that won't benefit me yet. But at the same time, I don't want to be left with outdated gear if WiFi 7 becomes mainstream in a couple of years. Has anyone made the jump to WiFi 7 already? Was it a noticeable improvement over WiFi 6, or is it just a future-proofing move?

Honestly, you'll probably notice a bigger difference if you switch to a wired connection for gaming. Wireless can be a bit unpredictable with speed drops and interference. As for WiFi 6 to WiFi 7, the upgrade might not be worth it unless you needed a new router anyway. If your setup meets your needs, it’s probably best to stick with what you have for now.

If your current setup is working fine, I don't see much reason to spend the cash to upgrade right now. WiFi 6 is still pretty solid!

Waiting to buy WiFi 7 might save you some money in the long run. Plus, with talk of WiFi 8 coming soon, you could end up getting something even better for less. If you really want to upgrade right now and have the budget, then go for it!

I think it really depends on your specific situation. If you don't have issues with your WiFi 6 setup and aren’t experiencing slow speeds or coverage problems, stick with it for now. However, if you're planning to expand your devices or need better coverage in a big home, it’s worth considering WiFi 7. Just know that the prices will probably go down as it becomes more common!

If you have a lot of devices that support WiFi 7, then it might be worth considering. But personally, I only have one device that uses it right now, so I'm sticking with my WiFi 6E setup. It still does what I need it to do!
