Should I Use a 14900K I Got for Cheap or Upgrade My GPU Instead?

I scored a brand new 14900K processor for just ten bucks, which was an awesome find! Currently, I'm running an AM4 setup with a 5700X3D and a 2070 Super. I'm planning to do a complete rebuild sometime in the next year. Should I hold on to the 14900K and build my new rig around that, or would it be better to sell it and use the cash to upgrade my GPU?

Honestly, I'd sell the 14900K and put that money towards a GPU upgrade instead. Your 5700X3D should still perform quite well for gaming, and you could get a decent 5070 or 9070XT to really boost your performance!

That sounds like a solid plan, thank you!

I wouldn’t rush into using the 14900K even if it's new. The 5700X3D is actually still competitive for gaming, and getting a new GPU might give you a better overall performance boost rather than switching chips. Plus, if you sell the 14900K, you could use that money for a nice upgrade, especially since the pricing for components is a bit crazy right now.

Whoa, that's a sweet deal on the 14900K! But have you checked if it really works? Just a heads-up, a lot of these chips have had issues with oxidation, especially the 13th and 14th gen. The 14900K can be particularly prone to this problem.
