Hi everyone! I just got a new PC with an RTX 4070 and an i7 12700K. My daughter plays some light games, and I was wondering if it makes sense to connect the display to the motherboard instead of the graphics card before she starts gaming. Will this help save the graphics card in any way? I tried to find a clear answer but struggled a bit. Thanks a lot for any tips!

No, it won’t help at all. Since she’s just playing light games, there’s really nothing to worry about saving the graphics card. Just use it as it’s meant to be used!
Using the integrated graphics won't really "save" your RTX 4070. In fact, this newer generation of GPUs allows you to output through the motherboard, but that can actually reduce performance by about 5-10%. Just stick to using the graphics card for the best experience!
Thanks for the info! Have a great day!
Appreciate the clarity! I'm definitely a bit of a newbie when it comes to these things.
