Should our nonprofit go with Google Workspace or Microsoft 365?

Hey everyone! I'm looking for some insights about whether we should switch our small nonprofit from using a mix of tools (mostly personal Google accounts) to either Google Workspace or Microsoft 365. We've had access to the basic Microsoft 365 nonprofit plan for free, but Microsoft is stopping that. Pricing options are $5.50/month for Microsoft 365 and $6.50/month for Google Workspace. Our new Executive Director favors Microsoft for its features, but I'm not so sure it's best for a small team like us. Here are some things I'm considering: 1) How easy is it for the public to access documents without logging in? 2) Will files stay synced if linked in multiple places? 3) Can Microsoft replicate the same functionalities from Google Forms to Sheets to Maps? 4) How easily can non-Microsoft account holders access documents? 5) Are there limits on devices per license? 6) What's the learning curve like? Any experiences or thoughts would be greatly appreciated!

Honestly, I think Microsoft 365 is a robust platform for larger teams, but if you don’t have dedicated IT help, sticking with Google Workspace might save you a lot of headaches. Google tools are usually easier to set up and require less maintenance. 365 has amazing features, but good support is tough if you don’t have IT staff around to help.

I agree! My nonprofit tried to switch to Microsoft without much tech support, and it was a learning curve! Google Workspace was definitely easier for our team to understand.
