Hey everyone! I'm diving into the world of Linux with the goal of focusing on server administration and sysadmin tasks. I've noticed that a lot of folks recommend distributions like Ubuntu or Debian for beginners, but I'm curious if those are truly the best choices or if there might be better options out there for getting a solid understanding of Linux.
I plan to set it up in dual boot on a separate empty HDD while keeping Windows on my SSD. Are there any tips or precautions I should take to ensure I don't mess up GRUB or the bootloader during this process? Also, if anyone has suggestions for books, courses, or YouTube channels that could help me out, I'd really appreciate it. Thanks a lot!

It's true that a good sysadmin can work on any OS, but starting with one like Ubuntu or Debian is definitely beneficial. And don't worry about messing up GRUB; it's a good learning opportunity to figure out how to fix it when things go wrong!
That’s exactly why I’m diving into Linux too! My job requires Linux experience, so I want to be prepared.
