Hey everyone, my friend recently had her iPhone stolen. Now, when she tries to erase it through the Find My feature, she's prompted to log in. After entering her password, it requests a two-factor authentication (2FA) code that she can't get because the device is missing. She attempted the options for not being able to access her devices, but it leads to a lengthy process to change the phone number on the account. We're in urgent need to wipe this phone. Is there any quick solution out there? Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Unfortunately, there's really no shortcut here. Without access to the 2FA device, the options are pretty limited. It's a tough spot to be in.
One option is to contact the carrier directly. They might be able to help forward calls to a new number your friend has access to. Once that's set up, she can select "Didn't Get Code" when Apple tries to send the 2FA code, and choose to receive it via phone call instead.
Honestly, there’s not much that can be done immediately. If your friend has another phone, she could ask her carrier for a new SIM card. Then, she's able to use the new SIM in another device to receive the 2FA code.
It might be better to avoid erasing the phone altogether and just keep it in lost mode until she can access 2FA. That way, it remains secure until she finds a solution.
