Hey folks, I've just built a new PC and I'm hitting a snag with my RAM not running at its advertised speed. Here are my specs: I'm using a Ryzen 7 7700 CPU with an ASRock B850 Riptide WiFi motherboard, and I'm trying to get my Orico Raceline DDR5 6400 MHz RAM (2x16GB, EXPO) to perform as it should. I've updated my BIOS to the latest version (3.30) and enabled the EXPO profile in the BIOS settings. However, both Windows and the BIOS still show the memory running at just 4800 MHz. It seems like the EXPO profile isn't applying correctly or might be getting reset. Additionally, I sometimes have issues where the PC won't POST after enabling EXPO, but then it eventually starts—only for the RAM to revert back to 4800 MHz. Has anyone dealt with this issue before? Did you try using XMP instead? Just a heads-up, XMP is generally for Intel systems, while EXPO is designed for AMD setups, but sometimes tweaking can help.
You might want to manually set the RAM speed to 6000 MHz in the BIOS. Sometimes the automatic settings just don't kick in properly, so manual configuration can solve the issue.
Have you checked if there are multiple EXPO profiles available? Sometimes motherboards offer different settings for optimal performance, so it's worth a look.
