Struggling to Initialize My New 8TB WD Black Gaming HDD—Any Solutions?

I recently purchased an 8TB WD Black gaming HDD, but I'm having trouble getting it to initialize in Disk Management. Every time I attempt to do so, I encounter an error message saying, "Request could not be performed because of an i/o device error." I've already ruled out issues with the SATA cables and power, as I tested them on my SSD and a smaller 2.5" HDD without any problems. The drive shows up in BIOS and in Disk Management, but it just won't initialize. I'm looking for advice on what else I can check or try out to fix this issue.

You might want to try running a clean command using DiskPart. After that, you should be able to initialize it. If you can select and clean the disk but still run into that error while initializing, there might be deeper issues with the drive.

Have you tried using different SATA ports on your motherboard? Also, what model of HDD are we talking about? Did you pick it up new or used? Just curious, how do you plan to use it? Even though it's a WD Black, I've heard it's not the fastest option for gaming or intensive programs.
