I've been stuck trying to update my Windows for a while now. Every time I attempt to update, it throws an error. Right now, I'm using Windows 10 version 20H2. I spent three hours on the phone with Microsoft support last night, but we couldn't solve the issue. We tried a bunch of different fixes without any luck. I even attempted to upgrade to Windows 11 and reinstall Windows 10, but both methods failed. I tried the installation through regular setup and USB, and my PC should be compatible for Windows 11. The Windows Update Troubleshooter didn't find any issues, but it did mention there were corrupt files. I ran the SFC scan and cleaned my disks, but I'm still lost on what to do next. Has anyone experienced this problem or have suggestions for fixing it? Thanks a lot!

If you're still having trouble, a clean install might be your best shot. Just make sure you back up any important data first because it can wipe everything.
It sounds frustrating for sure! To get a better handle on your situation, can you specify how exactly the installation fails? What error messages are you seeing? It could help narrow down the issue.
The update process just crashes sometimes, and other times it reaches the end and then says 'Windows 11 installation has failed'. I even got a message saying it was successful right before it reverted back to the old setup.
I'm worried though—what if I can't reinstall Windows at all since both versions have failed? Is there a risk?
