Struggling with Performance on My New PC Build

Hey everyone! I recently put together a new PC, installed Windows, Steam, and my games, but I'm facing some serious performance issues. For instance, Helldivers 2 is only running at 40-50 fps, while I've seen online that my setup should be capable of hitting 75-80 fps at high settings and 1440p. Even Battlefield 6 is only running at 50-60 fps on high presets, and my rig should definitely be performing better. I even tried using cachyOS to rule out any Windows-related problems, but the performance is still lacking. Here are my full specs: i5 14400f, 5070 12GB, Gigabyte B760M D4HP DDR4, 16GB DDR4 RAM, 650W PSU, and a 2TB SSD.

Make sure you have Rebar enabled in your system settings. Also, running a synthetic benchmark could help you see if your scores are in the ballpark of what's reviewed online.

It sounds like your CPU might be bottlenecking your GPU. While your current RAM is decent, consider upgrading for better performance, although it's not absolutely necessary. It's worth looking into the usage stats of both your CPU and GPU when playing those games, especially since Helldivers and Battlefield 6 can be quite CPU-intensive.

I've seen footage of the 13600K paired with the 5070 achieving over 85 fps at 1440p in Helldivers 2. The 14400F isn't significantly weaker, so there's likely something else at play here.

Totally agree! Keeping an eye on CPU vs GPU usage during those games will shed some light on whether the CPU is indeed the culprit.
