Struggling with Slow WiFi and Cell Data—Any Solutions?

I'm living in a medium-sized neighborhood in Idaho, and I'm dealing with really poor cell service and WiFi. Typically, I only get about 5 Mbps when I test my connection. My house can't connect to fiber internet, and we're currently using Spark Light cable internet, which is claimed to be the fastest in the area, but feels very slow. We also have 5G WiFi, but it barely works since my cell service is stuck at LTE. I thought getting a new modem would help, but it hasn't changed anything. I'm starting to wonder if my house is just in a dead zone. It's frustrating because I have a gaming PC that I hardly get to use due to this connectivity issue. Does anyone have any suggestions for possible solutions?

Have you tried connecting your PC directly to your router using an Ethernet cable? That could give you a better idea of your actual speed. Also, what plan are you on with your provider? Are they really advertising those 1Gbps speeds? And how big is your house? Sometimes the placement of the router can really affect your WiFi signal.

I haven't tried the Ethernet connection yet. We pay around $70 a month for the service, which they say is supposed to be 1Gbps. My house is two stories, and we keep the modem in the living room. I can only connect to the WiFi if I'm sitting right there, and even then, I'm lucky to hit 40 Mbps.
