I just earned my first $1000 and I'm ready to buy a gaming PC. Aesthetics aren't a big deal for me, except I prefer it not to be black. I'm primarily looking for a prebuilt system that's great for 1440p gaming, with a strong emphasis on performance rather than peripherals. Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated!

Congrats on your first $1000! While it’s tempting to spend it all now, consider saving a bit more. This way, you'll have a more future-proof setup that you can upgrade over time. It's worth the wait if you can manage it!
From my experience with a similar budget, most colorful prebuilts tend to skimp on performance. They often have lower-end CPUs and GPUs because the parts are pricier when not black. Focus on performance first!

So what do you suggest I do instead?
