Suggestions for a Basic Computer Literacy Test for New Hires?

I'm looking for recommendations for a basic computer literacy test for our new hires. The roles we're hiring for are primarily in sales and service (like mechanics), so we don't need anything too advanced—just fundamental skills. The sales team, for example, will need to use computers, navigate file structures, and manage basic tasks in office applications. Does anyone know of any free or paid resources that offer such tests?

Whatever method you decide on, make sure it can be done in person during the interview. Otherwise, candidates might cheat or get someone else to complete it for them.

Have you considered just creating your own list of tasks? You could have candidates demonstrate basic skills using a laptop in front of someone. For example, they could open a file, print it, log into a website, or send an email with a link. It could be more effective than trying to find a pre-made solution.

I totally get that, but I was looking for an existing solution to make things easier for everyone involved.

I don't have a specific product to recommend, but this concept is fantastic! I worked in a manufacturing facility before, and having a computer literacy test could have saved everyone a lot of hassle. You'd be surprised how many people struggle even with basic tasks like turning on a computer!
