I'm working in IT at a facility and need to create an interactive map that shows computer locations throughout the place. Ideally, I want the ability to click on each computer's location to display specific information such as the serial number, IP address, hostname, and more. I've heard about Visio, but I'm concerned it only offers visual representation and doesn't have the interactivity I need. Are there any free or inexpensive software options that can fulfill these requirements?

Lansweeper is another great tool. It automatically captures a lot of device info, and even lets you upload a floor plan where you can drag and drop assets directly onto it.
Consider using Snipe-IT alongside Draw.io via their API. This combination can provide both asset tracking and interactive mapping capabilities.
I totally get where you're coming from! Visio does a great job visually, but you're right, it lacks that interactive element. You might want to check out Workelevate or draw.io; they're both affordable and should suit your needs well.
OpenNMS Horizon might not have everything you need, but from my experience, it does a solid job at pulling information for asset mapping. Check out their community edition.
If I remember correctly, you can use GLPI with some plugins to achieve what you're looking for. It has decent features for asset management and mapping.
