Suggestions for Upgrading My Gaming PC on a ~600€ Budget?

I'm looking to upgrade my gaming setup with a budget around 600€. Here's what I've got in my cart for about 636€: an RTX 5060 8GB (though I know it could limit me later on), 32 GB DDR4-3200 CL16 RAM, an AMD Ryzen 7 5800X CPU, a 650 Watt be quiet! System Power 10 Non-Modular 80+ Bronze PSU, and the B550 AM4 Motherboard. I'm aiming for low to medium settings at 1080p with over 90 FPS, especially for Battlefield 6, and medium settings at 1080p with over 60 FPS for AAA single-player games. If you have any recommendations for adjustments that could improve performance without straying too far from my budget, I'd love to hear them! Also, can anyone confirm if the motherboard I chose supports CPU overclocking? I can't seem to find that info anywhere.

About overclocking, yes, you can overclock a bit with the B550 motherboard, but you’ll need good cooling. The performance boost is usually minimal, but tuning RAM can give you a more noticeable increase. If you could stretch your budget, consider the Ryzen 5 7500F. It’s faster and comes with an upgrade path to AM5 and DDR5. It may lead to better overall performance for your setup!

I’ll think about that. I’ve heard good things about AM5 builds, but they can get pricey real quick. And about RAM overclocking, is it worth the hassle?

It can be worth it, especially if you're gaming. Helps boost that performance without major upgrades.

Just a heads up about the B580, it's only worth it if you have a good CPU to avoid bottlenecks. The drivers are mostly fine now, but ensure your setup is solid to get the best out of it. You might run into some overhead issues otherwise!

Exactly! Make sure your CPU can keep up to avoid those drops in performance.

Didn’t know about overhead—so what you're saying is that with a budget CPU, it might run poorly?

If you're focused on gaming performance, you might want to think about downgrading to the Ryzen 5 5600X. It’s not as strong as the 5800X for BF6, which is CPU heavy, but for general gaming, it performs well without breaking the bank. Alternatively, consider upgrading to a 5700X3D if you can afford it later on!

I've been using the ARC B580, and it handles BF6 decently with around 80 FPS, but honestly, my CPU was the bottleneck. You definitely want a solid CPU for BF6. I’d suggest considering an RX 9060 (or XT if you can) instead of the RTX 5060, since I've heard issues with older Nvidia cards on PCIe 3.0. As for the 5800X, it should work for BF6, but make sure to do a bit more research if that's your main focus. Plus, with the ARC, make sure you're aware of any ongoing issues with drivers before diving in!

Thanks for the insight! I’ll check out those PCIe 4 issues with the RTX models. I’ve noticed that some Intel Arc benchmarks show lower FPS in BF6 at 1080p, so that’s definitely something to consider.

Yeah, the benchmarks can be hit or miss. The performance might improve with driver updates, but it’s a gamble at the moment.
