I'm currently using Windows 10 but planning to switch to Linux soon. I already use LibreOffice for my office suite, so I'm mostly out of the Microsoft ecosystem. My question is simple: can I transfer my documents and spreadsheets directly to Linux from a USB thumb drive? Will everything work smoothly, or are there additional steps I should be aware of? Thanks in advance!

For basic file transfer, just copy and paste as you normally would. It should all work like any other file transfer.
Absolutely, you can work with your LibreOffice files on Linux without any major issues. Just transfer them using a USB drive or another method you prefer, and you should be good to go!
Yes, copying them to a thumb drive works fine since they're usually formatted in FAT32 which Linux reads without problems. If you have a lot of files, you might also consider using a cloud service to access them on Linux. Alternatively, you can mount your Windows partition directly in Linux for easy access.
Just a heads up, you might need to install some fonts on Linux to ensure everything looks right, but it's generally not a big deal.
It's not completely hassle-free though. Depending on how your files are formatted in MS Office, you might run into some layout issues when opening them in LibreOffice. I've seen it happen, especially with more complex documents.
