Think I’ve Been Hacked—Help!

I've noticed something strange with my browser lately. It's saying that it's controlled by an organization, and I can't seem to disable or remove a suspicious extension. There's also this weird policy that popped up, and I'm really unsure of what to do about it. This issue is happening on multiple browsers, like Firefox and Chrome, and I'm using Windows 11. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

Try running AdwCleaner. It's pretty effective for removing stubborn adware and similar pests. You can download it from Malwarebytes' site.

Thanks! I'll give that a shot.

Have you checked what your antivirus or anti-malware software says? You might want to run a full scan just to be safe.

Also, did you recently sign up for anything using your work or school email? Sometimes that can lead to these kinds of issues.

Sounds like there's a rogue browser extension that Google flagged in Chrome. Sometimes, these extensions can work if an app sets up a fake organization on your PC to manage browser settings. If you have any ad blockers or video downloaders, they might be the culprits. Check this out for more info: [link]

It could also be that you've unknowingly joined a Mobile Device Management (MDM) setup. You can check your Windows version by pressing Win + R, typing `winver`, and taking a screenshot of that window to share. It might give more clues about what's going on.
