I'm fed up with Microsoft constantly managing my laptop, and I've heard so many good things about Linux. I'm really curious but not very tech-savvy at all. Can anyone recommend user-friendly Linux distributions that are easy to get started with? I'd also appreciate any guides or tutorials that could help me out!

Linux Mint is probably the easiest and most user-friendly option out there. It's designed to resemble Windows, so you'll feel right at home! Give it a try, I think you'll like it.
You can find tutorials for almost any task you want to accomplish on Linux. Plus, if you're into gaming, Steam's Proton allows many Windows games to run smoothly on Linux. I’m a Mint user myself, but Ubuntu is great too!
Proton is a lifesaver! Just keep in mind that not every game is guaranteed to run perfectly.
Remember, while Linux Mint is user-friendly, you will have to use the terminal at some point. Don't be intimidated; it’s easier than it looks! After a short while, you won’t even think twice about basic commands. Just be aware that some software like Microsoft Office or Adobe products might need extra work to get running.
A good tip for beginners is to try using a Virtual Machine or a Live-USB. This way, you can test Linux without risking your current Windows setup. Programs like Ventoy make it super easy to create bootable USB drives. Just download your desired Linux image, set your BIOS to boot from USB, and you’re all set!
Using a Live-USB is a great idea, I tried it with Mint and loved it!
Definitely! It’s such a low-risk way to try out Linux.
True! I love using Proton for gaming; it's worked really well for me.
