Hey everyone! I'm looking to make the switch from Windows 10 to Linux, especially with support for my current system winding down. I've been learning programming for about two years now and I've run into problems with certain libraries not supporting Windows, which hampers my AI-related projects. Additionally, I'm concerned about privacy issues with Windows 11's new features. I've done some research and Pop!_OS seems like a good choice for me due to its strong support for my RTX 3060 graphics card. I'd love to get any advice and recommendations on what I should consider before I make the switch. Thanks!

First off, definitely try any distro with a live USB before fully installing it. That way, you can see if it works well with your hardware without committing. It’s a checklist item for new Linux users that often gets overlooked. If the distro doesn’t run smoothly from the USB, just look for another one that does.

I completely agree! I set up a bunch of USB sticks with different distros to test them out. It’s a bit of work, but in the end, it saves you a lot of hassle. People sometimes need to remember that with Linux, the choice is part of the experience. Don’t rush it!
