Thinking of Upgrading My CPU—Need Suggestions!

I'm looking to upgrade my CPU from a Ryzen 5 3600X, but I'm torn on which route to take. I've heard about the Ryzen 7 5800X3D and 5700X3D as options. Currently, my build has Windows 11 Pro, a Gigabyte B550M DS3H AC motherboard, 16GB of Corsair Vengeance RAM (3200MHz), an EVGA RTX 3060 Ti, a Crucial P3 500GB SSD with 1TB M.2 storage, and a Coolermaster 650W power supply with good cooling. Any advice on whether I should pursue those CPUs or if other options might be better?

Those are solid options if you want to keep using your current motherboard and RAM. Just a heads up, the 5800X3D was discontinued about a year ago, and the 5700X3D recently too. Are you able to find either of them for a decent price? Let me know!

Before you upgrade, can I ask what you primarily use your PC for? The 3600X, in most cases, shouldn't bottleneck your RTX 3060 Ti while gaming. Now, if you're into CPU-heavy games like Factorio or Civilization, then it might be worth considering an upgrade! Those CPUs have increased in price since they’re not being manufactured anymore, but the 5700X is a more economical choice if you can snag it at a good price. Just make sure you're experiencing a CPU bottleneck first!

I appreciate the insights! Honestly, I was just looking to boost my FPS while playing Helldivers since I figured it's not the GPU holding me back, and thought a CPU upgrade could help.
