I'm currently facing the challenge of upgrading to Windows 11, and my current setup just isn't cutting it. I'm looking to invest in a high-end system that won't break the bank while also keeping my wife happy! I want something that can last a while and handle some light gaming, particularly with Flight Simulator. Additionally, I'm interested in enhancing my network connection since I use a RAID for storage and do some light video editing. I'm also considering adding an SSD to my system for a boot drive alongside my existing 2TB SATA drive. My plan is to set the SATA as the boot drive, install Windows 10, upgrade to Windows 11, and then transfer everything to the SSD. Would it be better to buy a new copy of Windows 11 and start fresh with the SSD instead? I'd love to hear your thoughts and suggestions!

It’s interesting that you’re going for a high-end CPU like the Ryzen 9 9950X3D, but don't have a new GPU lined up. It might not be the best idea to splurge so much on the processor and motherboard without planning for a graphics card. You could save some cash by opting for a less expensive motherboard that still supports PCIe 5.0 SSDs and enough slots for your future needs. A decent X870 board can save you money for that future GPU upgrade. Also, consider that future-proofing doesn’t really exist in PC hardware; things improve so quickly! How about looking into a reliable cooling solution? A 360mm AIO cooler would work great for your setup. Just some thoughts!
