I'm putting together a gaming PC that can handle 1440p resolution, and I've settled on these components: an AMD Ryzen 7 7700X CPU, Thermalright Peerless Assassin cooler, a Gigabyte X870 AORUS ELITE WIFI7 motherboard, 32 GB of G.Skill DDR5 RAM, and a Samsung 990 EVO Plus 2 TB SSD. For graphics, I'm going with an MSI SHADOW 3X OC GeForce RTX 5070 Ti, all housed in a Lian Li Lancool 207 case, powered by an MSI MAG A850GL power supply. The total is around $1600 before tax. I'm planning to build it myself instead of paying someone else to do it, which means I can use that extra cash for a 1440p monitor! I'll mainly be gaming with it, but I might also do some light video editing and music production in the future. I used to have a setup with a 3700X and a 2080 Super. Any feedback or suggestions would be appreciated!

Your motherboard seems like overkill for this setup. You could save some money by opting for a B650 motherboard instead. This way, you'd have some funds left over for future upgrades, like a Ryzen 7900X or 7800X3D if you want to go that route!
I found the motherboard bundled with the CPU and RAM for $450, so I figured having a high-end motherboard could help for future upgrades. Is it really a bad thing?
