Hey everyone! I'm diving into my very first PC build and looking for some advice. I want a system that's powerful enough for gaming, with potential for future upgrades, and I'm trying to keep it budget-friendly. Here's what I've picked out so far from PC Part Picker:
- **CPU**: Intel Core i7-14700K 3.4 GHz 20-Core Processor ($318)
- **CPU Cooler**: Noctua NH-D15 chromax.black 82.52 CFM CPU Cooler ($139.94)
- **Motherboard**: Asus TUF GAMING Z790-PLUS WIFI ATX LGA1700 Motherboard ($229.95)
- **Memory**: Corsair Vengeance 32 GB (2 x 16 GB) DDR5-6000 CL30 Memory ($129.99)
- **Storage**: Samsung 980 Pro w/Heatsink 1 TB M.2-2280 PCIe 4.0 X4 NVME SSD ($131.99)
- **Video Card**: NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4070 SUPER 12 GB Video Card (price not specified)
- **Case**: Fractal Design Meshify C ATX Mid Tower Case ($105.99)
- **Power Supply**: Corsair RM750e (2023) 750 W 80+ Gold Certified Fully Modular ATX Power Supply (price not specified)
- **Operating System**: Microsoft Windows 11 Pro Retail - Download 64-bit ($199.98)
- **Monitor**: Gigabyte M32U 31.5" 3840 x 2160 144 Hz Monitor ($549.99)
Total Cost: Approximately $1805.83 (but some prices are missing). I'm really just looking for thoughts, suggestions, or possible alternatives to improve this build. Thanks a lot!

I suggest switching to AMD. The 7800X3D is a solid option and generally performs better than the Intel 14700. If it's mainly for gaming, this might save you some heat and provide better performance.
Before going further, can you clarify what you'll mainly use the PC for? Gaming? Content creation? Also, what's your total budget? You’re missing prices for your GPU and power supply, which can be major expenses depending on your usage. Also, aim for a budget under $3-3.5k if you want a decent setup.
It'll be primarily for gaming, but I plan to get into content creation too! The pricing was just due to missing info on PC Part Picker, I haven't looked around to find exact costs yet.
Honestly, you're spending a bit too much for things that might not give you the best performance. You could trim down your budget by $500 and still get a great build without compromising too much.
Glad I posted here first! Looks like I've got more research to do before I commit.
Is 1TB of storage really going to be enough for you? You might want to consider upgrading to at least 2TB, especially for games and content creation.
I meant to specify 2TB, not 1TB! Totally slipped my mind.
For sure, I'm looking for something that can handle 1440p at ultra settings, so I might consider that. Thanks for the tip!
