I'm looking to upgrade my long-standing system as we approach the end of Windows 10 support and due to some tariff issues. I've had my current setup for over 12 years without any problems, but now I need to transition to Windows 11. My build includes many SATA drives (5+), and I'm planning to move from an Intel i7 3700 on an ASUS P8H770-V to an AMD Ryzen 7700 with an MSI MAG B650 Tomahawk WIFI motherboard, 64GB of G.Skill Ripjaws S5 6000/36 RAM, and a 2TB WD Black 850X NVMe SSD. I intend to keep my existing SATA drives, Fractal case, and Seasonic 750W PSU. Will I run into any issues with this upgrade? A major concern of mine is successfully cloning my Windows 10 boot drive to the new NVMe and then getting a free upgrade to Windows 11.

Sounds like a solid setup! I’d recommend doing a fresh install of Windows 11 instead of upgrading from Windows 10 to avoid potential issues later.
You might want to consider that your 12-year-old SATA drives could fail soon. Not consolidating them onto 1 or 2 new drives might not be the best choice.
Skip the cloning and just go for a clean install. It’s way better for performance and stability!
Totally get that! My old drives have been reliable, but I hate the idea of adding more waste to landfills.
