Hey everyone! I set myself a challenge about a week ago to improve in several areas including health, artistic skills, content creation, and coding. As a Computer Science major, I feel like I haven't fully tapped into my potential. Whenever I try to code in my free time, I get overwhelmed and confused. My teacher keeps saying I need to 'embrace the suck' and just dive into it, but I tend to overthink everything. My coding goals are to learn C++, Python (maybe Java), complete three projects (an arcade game, a website, and a calculator), and just become a better coder overall. Are these goals realistic? What should my next steps be? Am I making this too complicated? Thanks for your help!

I suggest you start by focusing on one area at a time. Think about why you want to code and choose a project that excites you. It’s more about building actual projects than just learning syntax. If you're unsure where to begin, the Odin Project has great resources for full-stack web development. It's structured from start to finish to help you get going!
I'd recommend not binding yourself with strict project or milestone counts. Instead, find something you’re truly passionate about and that brings you some benefit. Personally, I started by building a custom app for my smart home and then made a website for a friend's business. When you’re solving a real problem or creating something you love, it motivates you much more than just trying to create a basic calculator app.

I'm really interested in games! Maybe I should consider that direction?
