Tips for Learning KQL and PowerShell as a Junior Cloud Engineer

Hey everyone! I'm currently in a graduate program and I'm really enjoying my journey toward becoming a junior cloud engineer with Azure. However, I feel like I'm lacking some important skills, especially in KQL and PowerShell. I do have my AZ-104 certification under my belt and can run simple get commands in PowerShell, but I'm not yet comfortable with scripting out solutions from scratch. When it comes to KQL, I'm pretty lost and I want to improve my ability to utilize the resource explorer effectively. Any recommendations on resources or strategies to help me get better in these areas? Thanks! 🙂

Congrats on starting your cloud journey! I've been in this field for about three years, and it’s super rewarding. For KQL, I recommend learning by doing—try crafting real queries for troubleshooting scenarios. Also, for PowerShell, don't hesitate to experiment. Break things and build them back up, that's the best way to learn!

I’m excited to dive into practical scenarios! I have a sandbox subscription to test things out, so I’ll definitely get some practice going!
